eToro, the Nasdaq-listed trading and investing platform, has agreed to acquire LB Finanzas, an Argentine investing and payments app based in Rosario, in the province of Santa Fe. The two companies announced the agreement on November 4, 2026. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and had not closed at the time of the announcement.
Neither company disclosed the price, and iProUP reported that the value of the transaction was not made public. LB Finanzas will keep operating from Argentina with the same team, app and fees, and with its registrations at Argentina's securities regulator, the CNV, and its central bank, the BCRA, according to the company.
eToro said Argentina will become its regional hub for Latin America. The agreement is its fourth acquisition deal of 2026, following the crypto wallet Zengo in April, the Israeli crypto exchange Bit2C in May and the US brokerage TradeZero, announced in August, FX News Group and iProUP reported.
What LB Finanzas built
LB Finanzas started life as Let'sBit, a cryptocurrency exchange that pitched itself as a crypto bank. In October 2024 it took the name LB Finanzas after the CNV granted it a stock-broker licence, iProUP reported.
Its app, available on Android and iOS, now serves both individuals and companies. Users can buy US stocks and ETFs, more than 5,000 global stocks and bonds, more than 30 cryptocurrencies and money market funds, or pick from nine model portfolios. The app also offers peso and dollar accounts, including a US account that can send and receive dollars by ACH or wire, instant dollar purchases and sales, interest-bearing balances in pesos or stablecoins, payment of more than 6,500 bills and services, and physical and virtual cards.
For small businesses and startups, LB Finanzas offers accounts with international payments, treasury management and loans backed by guarantees from Argentine mutual guarantee companies, known as SGRs. Its website also lists registration with Argentina's financial intelligence unit, the UIF, and refers to US compliance with FINRA, the SEC and FinCEN. The site's legal notice names a US entity, LB Labs LLC.
“We started LB Finanzas in Rosario eight years ago with a simple idea: that any Argentine should be able to invest with the same tools people use internationally.”
The founders and the funding
Camilo Cristia, the company's co-founder and chief executive, said in the announcement that he started LB Finanzas in Rosario eight years ago. The company's own release puts its founding in 2018, as do Dealroom and iProUP. A 2022 Forbes Argentina interview gave 2020 as the year Let'sBit was born; this article uses the company's figure.
Santos Barrio, a co-founder, was previously the chief financial officer of Let'sBit; some reports spell his name Barrios. Forbes Argentina reported that five partners started the business from one of their kitchens and first funded it with their own money.
In March 2022 Let'sBit raised a pre-seed round of undisclosed size led by Angel Ventures, a Mexican venture firm, with Primary Ventures, part of Grupo MATBA-ROFEX, among the other backers, Descubre.vc and LatamFintech reported. The money was meant for expansion into Peru and Colombia. No later rounds have been reported.
The announcement said LB Finanzas has hundreds of thousands of users but gave no exact number. iProUP reported more than 130,000 wallet users as of February 2026. Forbes Argentina counted 46 employees in late 2022, working across Argentina, Peru and Colombia; the current headcount was not disclosed.
Why eToro is buying
eToro was founded in 2007, trades on Nasdaq under the ticker ETOR and is used by millions of people in 75 countries. Its features include CopyTrader, which lets users copy other investors, Smart Portfolios and investing through an AI agent. The Spanish-language release put its assets under administration at $20.2 billion, and iProUP reported 4.36 million funded accounts, up 18% from a year earlier, and 40 million registered users. It is regulated in the UK, Cyprus, Australia, the Seychelles, Abu Dhabi and Singapore.
Yoni Assia, eToro's co-founder and chief executive, said pairing LB Finanzas' local knowledge with eToro's global reach and products would let the company take its mission to millions of people in Latin America. He called the deal an important step toward a local presence in the region and said it would let eToro move faster there.
Tali Salomon, eToro's director for Iberia and Latin America, grew up in Rosario. She said the deal gives eToro a platform to meet Argentine demand for better financial products, and described the country as the base for its expansion across the region rather than only a point of entry. Dealroom noted that LB Finanzas already holds almost every licence eToro would need in Argentina, short of a banking licence.
What happens to customers
For now, nothing changes for LB Finanzas clients, the company said. Their accounts will not move to eToro, and transfers between the two platforms are not possible today, according to a question-and-answer page on the LB Finanzas site. Account details, including the CVU numbers used for local transfers, stay the same.
eToro said its own users will see no immediate impact. Over time it plans to combine the LB Finanzas and eToro experiences so that users in Argentina can reach a wider range of products and services. Cristia said clients can expect more products and more scale, delivered by the team they already deal with.
A crowded Argentine market
eToro is buying into a fast-growing base of retail investors. More than 12.3 million people in Argentina hold brokerage accounts, about 55% of the economically active population, iProUP reported, citing Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos. There are 24.6 million such accounts, up 35% in a year, and more than a million people hold CEDEARs, the local certificates that track foreign shares.
Other international players are moving in as well. Dealroom pointed to Revolut's preparations for an Argentine launch and to Tether's investment in the local fintech Ualá. Argentina's currency swings and shifting rules remain a risk for any company building a business there.
