Franklin Madison, an insurance marketing and distribution company based in Brentwood, Tennessee, has acquired Bindable, a Boston-based digital property and casualty insurance agency and distribution platform. Franklin Madison, a portfolio company of private equity firm Mill Point Capital, announced the deal on October 28, 2026.
The companies did not disclose the price or other terms. Bindable's website now describes it as a Franklin Madison company.
Franklin Madison said Bindable will gain more resources as part of the group, and that the deal strengthens its own agency expertise, access to insurance carriers and digital distribution technology. Bindable brings a nationally licensed agency, more than 30 affinity partnerships and more than 47 carrier appointments, along with its team. Franklin Madison did not say how many people work at Bindable or what roles its leaders will take.
What Bindable built
Bindable sells what it calls an Insurance-as-a-Service platform. It lets brands, financial institutions and other organisations offer home, auto and specialty insurance to their customers under their own name, without building the technology or running an insurance agency themselves.
According to the company's description, the platform includes ready-made templates for branded insurance marketplaces, quoting experiences built on application programming interfaces (APIs), agency support services and access to Policy Crusher, a tool Bindable licenses that combines customer relationship management, a comparative rater for comparing quotes from several insurers, and a cross-selling engine.
Bindable's approach is product-agnostic, meaning that it is not tied to a single insurer and can show consumers several options. Its agents can step in to support customers who want help buying a policy. Bill Suneson is Bindable's co-founder and chief executive. The release did not give the company's founding year or its funding history.
“After years of building a differentiated personal lines platform, Bindable is excited to join an industry leader like Franklin Madison that shares our commitment to partnership and innovation”
Why Franklin Madison is buying
Franklin Madison has more than 55 years in the business and says it serves more than 3,500 financial institutions in the United States. It helps banks, credit unions and affinity groups attract and keep customers through data-driven marketing and turnkey insurance products.
The company said the combination gives financial institutions, brands and other partners a way to offer a wider range of protection products through a single relationship. Partners will be able to add products without a complex technology build or setting up insurance operations of their own.
Franklin Madison plans to pair Bindable's platform with its own direct marketing engine. The result, it said, is a distribution model that covers the whole customer journey, from finding and targeting customers to quoting, buying a policy, agent support and ongoing contact. Chief executive Andrea Heger said the two companies share a goal of bringing insurance to the mid-market through their affinity and brand partnerships in a way that is simple for consumers.
The owner
Mill Point Capital is a New York private equity firm that buys controlling stakes in lower-middle-market companies in North America, focusing on industrials, business services and IT services. It describes itself as operationally oriented and works with a group of executive partners to improve the businesses it owns.
For Mill Point, the purchase is an add-on deal for an existing portfolio company, a common way for private equity owners to grow a business by buying smaller firms with technology or customers it lacks. In Franklin Madison's case, Bindable adds property and casualty lines and a digital agency.
What the founder said
Suneson said Bindable had spent years building a distinctive personal lines platform and was joining an industry leader that shares its commitment to partnership and innovation. He said the combination would create more market opportunities and value for clients and strengthen Bindable's ability to grow.
Heger said Franklin Madison was honoured to welcome the Bindable team and looked forward to carrying out the two companies' shared strategy. Neither company said whether further acquisitions are planned, or whether Bindable's existing partner programmes will change as they are combined with Franklin Madison's bank and credit union relationships.
