Gattaca, a London-based blockchain infrastructure company, has acquired BL Research Limited, the company that operates Blink Labs, a provider of transaction routing and protection for crypto wallets and applications. The deal was disclosed on October 22, 2026, by tokentus investment AG, a Frankfurt-listed investor that backed Blink Labs from its pre-seed round.

The purchase price was not disclosed. tokentus said it is selling its entire holding for cash and will not receive shares in Gattaca. It has already received an initial payment, and further payments depend on performance conditions that tokentus said it does not control, so they are not guaranteed. The size of the payments and the conditions are confidential.

Neither Gattaca nor Blink Labs has said what will happen to Blink Labs' brand or team after the deal.

What Blink Labs built

Blink Labs sells what it describes as MEV protection and on-chain transaction execution to wallets and RPC providers, the services that pass users' transactions to a blockchain. MEV, or maximal extractable value, is the profit that traders and block builders can take by reordering, inserting or front-running other people's pending transactions.

Its main product is a private mempool called River, which keeps transactions out of public view before they are included in a block. It also offers Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain RPC endpoints and gas sponsorship paid for from recovered MEV, according to its website. The company lists Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Solana, Arbitrum and Robinhood Chain among the networks it supports.

In its release, tokentus said Blink Labs processes more than 15 million transactions a day across multiple blockchains. Blink Labs' website says more than 4 billion transactions have been settled through its private mempool in total, and that the company has been operating since the beginning of 2023. It names bloXroute, MEV Blocker and MEV-Share as competitors.

Why Gattaca is buying

Gattaca builds infrastructure for what it calls blockspace markets: it routes and orders transactions, builds and delivers blocks, and provides an execution layer for on-chain trading, payments and settlement, according to the tokentus release. On its website Gattaca says it builds and operates the infrastructure connecting producers and consumers of blockspace.

Blink Labs' business sits at the start of that chain, collecting transactions from wallets and apps before they reach block builders. Neither company has commented publicly on its plans for the combined business.

The investors and the exit

tokentus invested $150,000 in BL Research's $1.5 million pre-seed round in 2023 and added $50,000 in a seed round in 2025, bringing its total investment to $200,000. A 2023 announcement of the pre-seed round, published on MarketScreener, listed Skyland Ventures, CMT Digital, DeFi Alliance and DCG Expeditions among the other investors. The size of the 2025 seed round and Blink Labs' total funding have not been disclosed.

"As part of Gattaca's acquisition of BL Research Limited, we are selling our entire holding," said Oliver Michel, chief executive of tokentus. Investment manager Mona Tiesler said that "with Gattaca as a strong partner, we believe the company will continue on its chosen path."

tokentus did not disclose its return on the investment. The German financial news service 4investors reported that the Frankfurt investor receives the purchase price in cash and that further instalments are due on contractually agreed terms.

Consolidation in crypto infrastructure

The deal is one of several crypto infrastructure acquisitions announced in the same week. On October 21, Standard Chartered signed an agreement to buy institutional custodian Zodia Custody, and crypto payments firm RedotPay said it had bought Japanese exchange BTCBOX to serve Japanese users under a local licence.

For tokentus, which invests in blockchain companies, the sale turns one of its earliest bets into cash. The company did not say how the proceeds will be used.
