Scopely, the mobile games publisher behind MONOPOLY GO!, said on 19 February 2026 that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in the Istanbul-based studio that makes the puzzle game Pixel Flow!. Several trade outlets, including PocketGamer.biz, identified the studio as Loom Games; Scopely's own announcement referred to it only as the team behind the game.
Scopely did not disclose the size of its stake, the price or the expected closing date. Tech.eu and other outlets reported that the deal has a multi-year, performance-based structure that values the studio at more than $1 billion, which would make it one of the few Turkish games companies to reach that level.
The studio keeps its leadership and location. Co-founders Kübra Gündoğan, the chief executive, and Emre Çelik, the chief technology officer, will continue to run it from Istanbul, and Scopely said the team would keep its creative autonomy.
What the Pixel Flow! team built
According to Scopely, the studio was formed in 2025 and released Pixel Flow! soon after, in late 2025. The game is a hybrid-casual puzzle title that earns money from both in-app purchases and advertising and is built around a new gameplay mechanic that relies on timing and planning.
Within a few months the game had been played by more than 10 million people worldwide and had millions of daily active users, Scopely said. It was the only casual game released in the previous 12 months to enter the monthly top 20 grossing chart in the US. PocketGamer.biz reported that the game had reached seven-figure daily revenue, a figure the companies did not confirm in the announcement.
The team numbers about 20 people. Scopely said the founders had a track record of building and operating games before starting the studio.
“'Pixel Flow!' is only a few months into its journey, yet it's already reached millions of players and climbed the top-grossing charts at remarkable speed.”
Why Scopely is buying
Tim O'Brien, Scopely's chief revenue officer and a member of its board, pointed to the speed at which the game climbed the charts and the team's willingness to iterate. He said Scopely is constantly looking for teams and franchises it can bring into its operating system, and described the deal as a sign of its commitment to being a partner to studios.
The deal also gives Scopely more development capacity in Turkey, which it described as one of the most active games hubs in the EMEA region. Scopely has been owned since 2023 by Savvy Games Group, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Arab Founders reported.
The agreement follows Scopely's purchase of Niantic's games business, which brought Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now and Pikmin Bloom into its portfolio. Scopely said MONOPOLY GO! had passed $6 billion in revenue.
The founders and the funding
Before the deal, the studio closed a seed round that included Arcadia Gaming Partners and the early-stage fund e2vc. Scopely did not give the amount; PocketGamer.biz described it as a seven-figure investment.
Akin Babayigit, managing director of Arcadia Gaming Partners, called the game's rise one of the strongest success stories from the Turkish games industry in recent years and said the team had become the latest Turkish startup to reach unicorn status.
Gündoğan said that in talks with Scopely, the buyer's confidence in the studio's hybrid-casual approach had been affirming, and that the arrangement would let the team keep its creative independence while learning from Scopely. She described the outcome as a milestone for the Turkish gaming ecosystem as well as for her team, and said the studio would keep building games meant to last for years.
Advisers on the deal
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Hergüner Bilgen Üçer acted as legal counsel to Scopely, and Aream & Co. was its financial adviser. The Pixel Flow! team was advised by the Turkish law firm KECOS and by Fenwick & West.
Scopely did not say when it expects the transaction to close or what milestones the performance-based payments depend on.
