Aeon, a preventive healthcare startup founded in Zurich that offers AI-assisted whole-body health check-ups, announced on September 15, 2026 that it had acquired the core assets of Aware Health, a Berlin consumer blood diagnostics platform.

Aeon bought Aware Health's full technology platform, key contracts and equipment, its customer relationships and its core team. The Berlin team continues under the Aeon brand without interruption. The price was not disclosed, and neither company reported Aware Health's founding date or funding history.

At the same time Aeon closed a seed extension, taking its total seed funding to more than $14 million. The new money pays for integrating Aware Health's technology and team as well as Aeon's European expansion.

What Aware Health built

Aware Health built one of Germany's leading consumer blood testing services. It combined a fully regulated diagnostics set-up with live connections to laboratories and a network of more than 45 locations where customers could have blood drawn.

The platform offered more than 100 biomarkers across a range of preventive health test panels and had close to 10,000 active customers. Co-founder Ferdinand Schmidt-Thomé said he was most proud of the trusted consumer health brand the team had built and of making advanced diagnostics accessible and easy to understand.

Aeon said customer data would only move to it with each customer's explicit individual consent and in line with the EU's GDPR privacy rules.

“Imaging tells you where you are. Blood diagnostics tell you where you are heading. AI is what connects the two into prediction. The acquisition of Aware Health accelerates that vision by two years, and this round gives us everything we need to execute.”Tim Seithe, founder and CEO, Aeon

Why Aeon is buying

Aeon's check-ups use whole-body MRI, which it says can detect more than 500 possible anomalies across the brain, organs and blood vessels, alongside blood tests covering more than 100 biomarkers and analysis of genetic risks. More than 90% of its check-ups surface findings customers can act on, and the rate of significant findings is 15.4%, the company says.

The argument for the deal is that an MRI scan is a one-off snapshot, while blood tests can be repeated every few months. Combining the two gives Aeon a health record for each customer that is updated over time, which is the kind of data its AI models need to spot trends, flag changes early and predict individual health risks.

Founder and chief executive Tim Seithe said imaging shows where a person is, blood tests show where they are heading, and AI connects the two into a prediction. He said the acquisition brings that plan forward by two years. Aeon has been live in Germany since early 2026, and the country is already its fastest-growing market.

The investors

The seed extension was co-led by Araya Ventures, with existing investors Concentric, GoHub Ventures, Kadmos Capital, Calm/Storm Ventures, N&V Capital and Bigwave Capital taking part. House of Araya, an investing syndicate led by Kavit Haria and Rupa Popat, also put money in.

Popat, Araya Ventures' founder and general partner, said the combination of imaging, repeat blood tests and AI gives a long-term health picture that no other platform in Europe offers.

Aeon also hired Pablo Tano as its AI lead. Tano has published research in Nature on reinforcement learning in the brain and was part of the winning team in Meta's MyoChallenge AI competition. He will lead work on models that read across imaging, blood and genetic data.

What changes for customers

For Aware Health's customers, the service continues under a new name. Aeon says the deal gives it what would otherwise have taken years to build in Germany: a regulated diagnostics operation, live laboratory links, a nationwide network of blood-draw sites and an established customer base in Europe's largest healthcare economy.

The deal is structured as an asset purchase rather than a takeover of the Aware Health company itself. That approach is common when a buyer wants a product, team and customers but not a target's corporate liabilities, though neither company explained the choice.
