Andavi Solutions, a company that sells sales execution software to beverage and consumer goods makers, acquired Infilect, a Bengaluru startup that uses image recognition to show brands what is happening on store shelves. Andavi announced the deal on November 4, 2026, in a release issued from New York.
Neither company disclosed the price or other financial terms. Andavi did not say when the deal closed, but it said work to integrate the two companies' technology had already started.
Infilect will keep running with its current product, staff, customer relationships and service commitments, according to the release. Its two co-founders, chief executive Anand Prabhu Subramanian and Vijay Gabale, whom the release names as chief product and technology officer, both commented on the deal.
What Infilect built
Infilect sells visual intelligence software to consumer goods and beverage companies. Its platform analyses photos and videos taken on shelves, displays, menus and bar back shelves, and picks out individual products, the number of facings, prices, availability, share of shelf and what competitors are doing in the same space. The release also described the company as working on agentic AI, software that suggests or takes the next step rather than only reporting.
On its website the company lists several products. InfiViz is its main retail execution platform, sold as a way to give brands live visibility into stores. InfiEye applies image recognition to video feeds at self-checkouts and shelves to flag possible theft, and InfiArt checks digital creative work for brand compliance. The site also lists tools for planogram compliance, on-shelf availability, price tracking and syndicated audits, aimed at packaged food and drink, over-the-counter pharmaceutical, pet care and consumer electronics brands as well as large retailers.
Infilect says on its site that it is deployed in more than 18 countries, covers about 400,000 stores a month and processes around 5 million images a month. Its case studies include a convenience store chain in Indonesia and a large US packaged food brand. It has offices in Bengaluru and in Sacramento, California.
“Infilect gives our customers better visibility into what is happening in the market and helps turn those insights into action.”
Why Andavi is buying
Andavi's software is used by beverage and consumer goods companies to manage field sales, pricing, trade promotions and visibility into the market. Its website describes a CRM for beverage alcohol suppliers in the US three-tier system, along with tools for trade promotion, planogram compliance and pricing, and shows logos of customers such as William Grant, Campari, RNDC and Delicato. The company is led by chief executive Nina Vellayan, who previously ran Engageware, Xeeva and FrontStream Payments, according to Andavi's team page.
Andavi already offered some image recognition, with field teams capturing photos of shelves, menus and back bars. Buying Infilect brings that capability in house. The release said field teams in the industry are moving away from manual surveys and fixed reports toward image recognition and agentic AI.
Under the combined offer, a sales representative takes a photo or video during a store visit and receives recommended next steps almost in real time. Managers get a view of gaps in execution, out-of-stock items, pricing, merchandising and growth opportunities. Andavi said the joint product is already in production with beverage alcohol customers.
The founders and the funding
Subramanian previously worked at Bell Labs and IBM Research, and Gabale, who holds a PhD from IIT Bombay, also came from IBM Research, HRNXT reported in 2020. The two built Infilect in India, and the company's website lists its founding team alongside board member Rostow Ravanan and two advisers. Sources give conflicting information on when the company was founded.
In September 2020 Infilect raised $1.5 million in a round that HRNXT and Entrepreneur India described as pre-Series A. Mela Ventures and 1Crowd led the round, and The Chennai Angels took part. The company said at the time it would use the money to expand its sales effort and invest further in image recognition. Inc42, which records that round as seed funding, also lists an undisclosed seed investment from Peaceful Progress in July 2022 and puts total disclosed funding at about $1.5 million.
Inc42's company profile lists 98 employees. Andavi did not say how many Infilect staff joined it.
What happens to customers
Andavi said Infilect's customers will keep their existing product and service commitments, and that Infilect's team stays in place. The release did not say whether the Infilect brand or its separate products will be kept over time.
For Andavi, the deal adds an engineering team in India and a customer base that reaches well beyond US beverage alcohol, the market where Andavi has focused. Subramanian said in the release that joining Andavi would let Infilect reach more customers while it continues to grow internationally.
