QuestionPro, an Austin, Texas, company that sells survey, research and experience management software, has acquired Contlo, an Indian startup that runs AI-driven marketing for online stores across email, SMS, WhatsApp and web push. QuestionPro announced the deal on November 4, 2026.

Neither company disclosed terms. Contlo's co-founders, Ishaan Bhola and Mukunda NS, are joining QuestionPro as AI advisors and will help steer its AI roadmap and its work on what it calls agentic commerce. QuestionPro said it will build Contlo into its own products and services, starting with e-commerce brands and Shopify sellers in particular.

The release also said QuestionPro will put SuperAGI's agentic AI platform to work across its product suite. It did not explain how SuperAGI relates to Contlo.

What Contlo built

Contlo was founded in October 2021 by Bhola, its chief executive, and Mukunda NS, and has offices in Bengaluru and Delaware, according to StartupStory. It began as a marketing platform that plugged into Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, Wix, WooCommerce and custom stores, with an app store of add-ons such as reviews and ad syncing meant to cut the number of separate tools a brand needed.

Today it pitches itself as autonomous marketing for e-commerce. Each brand gets its own AI model, which Contlo calls Brand AI, which learns its identity, goals and customer personas and works from its own catalog and customer data. AI agents then plan campaigns, write copy, run customer journeys, answer shoppers and report results, on top of a customer data platform that holds profiles and segments.

According to QuestionPro's release, Contlo has sent more than 5.8 billion messages, manages more than 190 million customer profiles, has generated 3.9 million orders and connects to more than 200 platforms. In his blog post QuestionPro founder Vivek Bhaskaran said it serves hundreds of paying brands. Inc42's data service put its revenue at ₹20.3 crore (about $2.3 million) in the 2025 financial year, up from ₹19.4 crore (about $2.2 million) a year earlier.

Why QuestionPro is buying

QuestionPro's software helps companies collect feedback and analyze what customers and employees think. Bhaskaran wrote that the company was good at listening but had been failing at acting on what it heard, and that tools for listening, such as surveys, and tools for acting, such as email and offers, had long lived in separate worlds.

He described Contlo as the first of several systems of activation QuestionPro plans to add. By focusing on one vertical, e-commerce, he wrote, the company hopes to make a full loop of listening, deciding, acting and learning work. For customers outside e-commerce, he said, not much changes for now.

In the release, QuestionPro said that combining its customer feedback data with Contlo's engagement and purchase signals would let AI agents pick the next step for each shopper, such as product advice, a service reply or a follow-up message, and adjust based on results. Bhola said QuestionPro brings a deeper view of what customers think and need, which paired with Contlo's tools would help brands serve shoppers at every step.

The founders and the funding

Contlo raised an $800,000 pre-seed round in January 2022 led by Better Capital, with Titan Capital and angel investors taking part, Entrackr reported. At the time the platform was used by more than 500 e-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands, according to w.media.

In December 2022 it raised a $3.5 million seed round led by Kae Capital, with Titan Capital and Better Capital returning, StartupStory reported. Angels in that round included Varun Alagh of Mamaearth, Varun Sadana of SuperTails, Arjun Vaidya of V3 Ventures, Sinch's Vikram Khandpur, Varun Vohra, Srinivas Anumolu and Giridhar Malpani of Climber Capital.

Inc42 lists a further round in March 2024 without an amount, and puts Contlo's total funding at about $14.3 million across three rounds. The figure could not be checked against a company announcement. Contlo did not disclose its headcount.

A buyer on a run of deals

Contlo is not QuestionPro's first purchase this year. In April 2026 it bought Fathom, a text-analytics platform for open-ended survey answers, and is building Fathom's agentic research tools into its products, SalesTechStar reported.

Dealroom reported that Bhaskaran already sat on Contlo's advisory board before the deal; QuestionPro's release did not mention this. Bhaskaran closed his post by calling Contlo the first step in QuestionPro's agentic commerce plans and saying more would follow.
